This course provides students with the opportunities to choose and reads poems, fables, fairytales, folktales, short stories for children, Young Adult literature, and creative non-fiction (e.g. memoir, biography). It is aimed at developing good reading habits, build up knowledge of vocabulary and structure, and encourage a liking of reading. It requires students to respond to what they have read and to carry out a variety of classroom activities in order to share with one another what they have learned from the reading materials.
